Savannah Highway traffic is blocked in both directions near the Clemson Coastal Research and Education Center due to a wreck involving multiple vehicles.
According to Charleston County dispatchers, the wreck occurred around 6:45 a.m. near the research center at 2865 Savannah Highway.
Four vehicles collided on the highway's northbound lanes, Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said. Two people were transported to the hospital, he said.
Witnesses reported seeing an overturned vehicle.
All lanes are blocked while authorities work the wreck, Francis said.
Drivers should avoid the area.
