A man was caught on camera holding up a Johns Island Pizza Hut Monday night, according to Charleston police.

A man holding a revolver with a long barrel walked into the Pizza Hit at 1828 Bohicket Road and tried to force an employee to open a safe, police spokesman Charles Francis said. A second man armed with a shotgun remained outside the store. Both men fled toward Haut Gap School after the robbery.

The man inside the store is described as black with medium complexion, in his early to mid 20s, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches tall, wearing blue jeans, black tennis shoes with white soles.

Anyone with information about this or other robberies in the area is asked to call the on-duty central detective at 720-2487.
