Regard the home as a cultural oyster stew — French and Scandanavian touches, Sullivan’s Island beach house style, with a mix of antique and IKEA furniture.

Situated on a removed Seabrook Island cul-de-sac, the property likely won’t show up on a visitor’s tour “menu.” But the residence indeed is a delicacy, sporting a swimming pool, dock and floater on a tidal creek, acres of surrounding marsh and panoramic views of the Bohicket and North Edisto rivers. Kayak across the water and land at Rockville or Cherry Point.

The house is 1505 Lady Anna Lane, in the prestigious Jenkins Point neighborhood. Touting a new standing-seam metal roof of greenish hue, the two-story home is for sale for $2.3 million.

“I think it’s novel,” says Joy Millar, Realtor with Kiawah Seabrook Group - Dunes Properties and listing agent. In her write-up, she describes the residence as a “casually chic plantation house.” Millar says, “It really is a beach house on the marsh and a little more casual and relaxed that some on the island. Someone said it’s like the old houses in the Caribbean.”

Built in 2002, the 3,634-square-foot cedar-sided residence is on a lush .7 acre lot. The marsh front lawn provides a great setting for a sunset oyster roast or soiree, she says. Ancient oaks and newer palmettos flank the yard and offer scenicvistas.

Dominating the first floor is the 900-square-foot living quarters, marked by cathedral ceilings and heart pine floors. The great room opens to an extra broad screened-in porch — capturing marsh breezes — that wraps around the sides of the house and can be accessed from the kitchen and the master bedroom. The porch also provides shade and offers an ample place for entertaining, Millar says.

A fireplace nudges the edge of the living room, while an open dining area is at the far end. Throughout the house are more than 12-foot tall ceilings except for the even loftier vaulted great room. Transoms also “contribute to an open, light and bright home,” she says.

Off the dining area is the upscale kitchen, boasting granite countertops, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, Viking range, stainless steel dishwasher and microwave.

The master suite houses a good-sized sleeping area that can handle a four-poster bed and a quaint bathroom with hardwood floors, clawfoot tub, modern shower and vanity sinks.

A sizable guest room is also on the main floor as is a sitting room-office complete with big screen television. Most rooms in the house contain special roll-up blinds and shades.

Stairs lead to the top floor. Twin children’s bedrooms showcase dormer windows, and they each have their own bathrooms. A balcony looks out over the great room.

Underneath the raised house is enough open space for five cars as well as room for storage or a wood-working shop, she says.

Most all of the furnishings can be purchased. “With negotiation, it can be turn key,” she says.

As both the agent and a neighbor, Millar can be excused for her excitement about the house. “Timeless in style, grand in dimension but intimate in presentation, this home is a ‘must see’ for anyone ready to unwind and share this very special destination.”

The house in on the northwest tip of Seabrook Island. Traveling toward Johns Island, take Maybank Highway across the Stono River bridge. Follow the highway to Bohicket Road and turn left. Stay on Bohicket and then Betsy Kerrison Parkway for about nine miles to the Kiawah-Seabrook roundabout. Stay right onto Seabrook Island Road. After passing the security gate, continue on Seabrook to Clear Marsh Road and turn right. Make another right on Jenkins Point Road. Proceed about a mile to Lady Anna Lane, which is the last left. Ahead on the right is 1505 Lady Anna Lane.
