To help

Willard is a 69-year-old who is suffering from diabetes. Because of the severity of his disease, he is confined to a wheelchair or bed rest.

An Army veteran, Willard lives with his daughter and her husband, who care for him on a daily basis. With rising medical and prescription medication costs, however, it is difficult for him to meet all his financial needs.

Your donation to the Good Cheer Fund will help a local agency assist Willard with paying a few of his mounting bills. In addition, a food gift card will assure that he and his family will have ample food on the table for a proper Christmas celebration.

Contributions to The Post and Courier’s Good Cheer Fund have helped the less fortunate in the Lowcountry since 1927. The six charitable organizations sharing the funds collected are Carolina Youth Development Center, Lowcountry Food Bank, Salvation Army, Star Gospel Mission, Association for the Blind and Coastal Catholic Charities. Every cent of the money raised goes directly to the agencies as there are no administrative costs involved.

Send tax-deductible donations to the Good Cheer Fund, c/o The Post and Courier, 134 Columbus St., Charleston, SC 29403-4800.

Donations also may be made in person or online at www.goodcheer fund.com.
