Shirley Greene, assistant features editor for The Post and Courier, joined the newspaper in 1977 as a reporter and has covered multiple beats, including schools, police and government. Shirley also has served in several editing positions: North Area Bureau editor, Your Lowcountry editor, Faith and Values editor and assistant city editor. She holds a bachelor's degree in Communications from Winthrop College. A lifelong Lowcountry resident, Shirley writes a weekly column reflecting on people, events or trends primarily in the local minority community.
